Poker is a game which has been evolving for centuries, although it’s growth has certainly sped up in the last few decades.

There have been times in history where one poker game has become the most popular for a significant amount of time, with poker games such as Five Card Draw, and Seven Card Stud having been popular in previous years. Currently, it is Texas Holdem that remains the most popular poker game, as you are unlikely to find a cardroom which does not offer a Holdem game.

There are other interesting variations of standard poker games which are played in home poker games everywhere, with different twists on a three card poker game being popular. Stud games are still relatively popular, with Five Card Stud, and Seven Card Stud being offered at many online poker rooms. The popularity of Holdem is so great though, that it can be difficult to find many online tables in these poker games.

Omaha is another popular form of poker, and is similar to Holdem in many ways, as the same board cards and hand rankings still apply. The differences in Omaha rules are that each player starts with four cards instead of two, and must use two of those cards to make a hand. You couldn’t use a single ace of diamonds to make a Flush if there are four diamonds on the board for instance, because you have to use two cards from your hand. This may seem a little bit complicated, but with almost any form of poker, you only have to put in some time playing a game and the rules soon become second nature.
